PORTLAND SEAFARERS MISSION
WHO WE ARE
The Portland Seafarers Mission is a non-profit organization. Its primary purpose is to provide services to the seafarers who come into the area without partiality of race, religion, economic or social condition.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the center is to focus on providing services to the Seafarers who come to the Port of Portland, Oregon, without partiality of race, religion, or economic or social condition. We are committed to being a visible and public manifestation of the love of God by providing spiritual, health, emergencies, contact to authorities, and other needs that may arise. We are committed to serving Seafarers who because of new Federal security restrictions or for other reasons are not allowed to leave their ship, by PSM going on board to give them friendship and to provide them with means of communicating with their families, to provide a worship experience when requested, to provide counseling, spiritual and emotional support individually, and seek to make them feel welcomed and among friends in our port. We are committed to providing transportation for Seafarers who need to go places like shopping areas, calling places, and other areas that are needed. We, therefore, commit ourselves to this endeavor and believe in God’s provision as he touches other people who are willing to support this Seafarers Center of Portland.
